Long Day of Urban Nature 2026
Just as everything is in full bloom, bursting with colour and buzzing with life, we too open our garden gates to anyone who’s interested. To mark the Long Day of Urban Nature on 30 May 2026, we invited people to the garden next to Markthalle Neun and offered a variety of hands-on activities for young and old alike. These were designed and organised by the participants in our ‘Bee Happy’ community gardening project.
In conversation with us and the group, those interested were able to learn how bees cope in the city, how to grow your own vegetables, how to build a raised bed, and which insects are currently flying and crawling through the vegetable patches. There was homemade lemonade made with garden herbs, magnifying glasses for observing insects and flowers, a bee activity kit, and plenty of painting, crafting and exploring.
As a result, some visitors have joined the ‘Bee Happy’ garden group for seniors. We’re still open to new participants – just get in touch!
The event took place as part of our BEE HAPPY project, with financial support kindly provided by the Santor Foundation.
